Many manufactures of concrete bricks and housing brick manufactures will generally produce their own range for clay paving brick products. These bricks by general terms are a traditional rectangular bricks known as "cobbles", "setts" and squares.
These clay brick pavings will come in a good variation of sizes from 60mm x 60mm, 150mm x 150mm and 300mm x 300mm. For those specific projects where a custom made brick paving is required then the more co-operative manufactures can supply these for you.
Unlike concrete block pavings, clay brick pavings come with two presentable faces allowing them to be turned over to show a new clean side hiding stains in the paving.
the most commonly used clay brick paving size is 100-105mm x 200-215mm x 65mm, buying these per square metre means that you will typically get around 50 clay bricks per square metre.
Clay bricks colours are completely natural looking, this means that during the kiln and making procedure there is no dye used and are not subject to fading like some concrete blocks are.
Using this method means the manufactures are allowed to create a limitless array of coloured bricks, reds, browns, blues, greys and even multi-colour blends. This type of brick paving is typically used specially where the project requires colour to be an important factor.
PLEASE NOTE: "house" bricks, "facing" bricks or "commons" are NOT suitable for paving.
These types of bricks will most likely crack, flake or just disintergrate in damp conditions as these types of bricks were never designed for this type of use. Same as brick pavings can not be used for walls, houses or bulding work.
